Liberator combines multiple sources. Source data can contain errors or become outdated, and Liberator's score is an independently produced interpretation rather than a score supplied or endorsed by a source listed below. Libby is the in-app guide/mascot.

Open Food Facts

Some product names, brands, barcodes, ingredients, allergens, nutrition fields, classifications, and product images come from the collaborative Open Food Facts project.

Database: Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL)

Product images: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 (CC BY-SA 3.0); images can also contain logos, packaging, or other elements subject to separate rights

USDA FoodData Central

Some food names, brand records, barcodes, ingredients, serving information, and nutrient fields come from USDA FoodData Central.

FoodData Central states that its data are public domain and published under CC0 1.0 Universal. Attribution: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, FoodData Central. See the official API guide and licensing notice.

Scientific literature

Libby uses research indexes and linked publisher records, including Semantic Scholar and OpenAlex, to discover scientific literature. Article abstracts, metadata, and full text remain subject to their publishers' and authors' applicable rights. A citation in Libby is not an endorsement by the author, journal, or index.

Other product and image sources

When the primary sources do not identify a product, Libby may use product-identity lookup services or publicly reachable manufacturer and retailer pages to locate a name, brand, ingredient record, or product image. Trademarks and product imagery remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance is for product identification and does not imply sponsorship.

Source-specific licenses stay source-specific. This page does not relicense USDA data, independently developed Libby scores, Libby source code, third-party publications, trademarks, or retailer/manufacturer material under the Open Food Facts licenses. Likewise, it does not remove the ODbL, DbCL, or CC BY-SA obligations that apply to Open Food Facts material. If Libby distributes a database or image collection, the applicable source notice and license must travel with that material.

Corrections

Product formulas and source records change. If a Liberator result conflicts with the package in front of you, rely on the physical label and report the mismatch to support@nueralhook.app.
